Hi chaps, have had a read through the specialists thread at the top already and it's given me a couple of names to try like B 4 BMW or BM Motors.

Has anyone had first hand experience with any of the local BMW indies inspecting E46 M3 subframe/floors for cracks? Any recommendations for the job?

Thanks!

Hi mate.

I have used BM Motors and highly recommend them. However I know that they are in the middle of moving new premises so might not be in a position to carryout your request.

I know of a few Within the BMWcc Scotland who have used Eastern BMW in Edinburgh to look at theirs for free

Is BM motors the place in Bathgate? If so, I've heard good feedback on them.

I (indirectly) know B4BMW as I use their sister buiness, A4Audi and they're a good lot, however, I'm not sure B4B actually do subframe inspections themselves...?

Menzies Stirling or Eastern BMW are also both well known (esp Menzies) and decent garages, although not independent, so might be a bit more £££.

There's also Deutschtek, just off Woodlands Road in Charing X.

Thanks guys, it was your reccomendation that I spotted for BM Motors Gary. I'll maybe need to give them a try once they're settled.

I spoke to my usual guy who works on all my cars (Automek in EK) and he's had experience of working on E46s thankfully, so he's going to check it out next week for me. I'm not too worried, but just want to be on the safe side before booking up for Knockhill in a couple of weeks.

Edit: In fact, I know the service advisor at Eastern, I'll need to have a word... it's a year out of the 10-year window for any goodwill repairs unfortunately, and hasn't been serviced within the dealer network for a couple of years.
