Well after the previous owner had replaced all the rads, and then I replaced the weeping air con condensers I thought about fitting air intake grills to the front bumper to guard against stone damage etc.

I took the front bumper off and duly started to try and fit the generic mesh available at Halfords, well it wasn't going to be straight forward, as unlike the C4S and Turbo bumpers the GT2 has a horizontal plane across the side openings that goes into the opening at an angle. I wasn't happy with the way the mesh fitted so stopped the project, as I couldn't get it to fit flush.

Rennline (No affiliation) had been talking about producing a kit for the GT2, but as we know it's quite a small market, but true to their word they have produced a kit designed specifically for the GT2 bumper. I fitted it over the weekend, and it was a smooth install and the pre formed grill pieces fit very well and are held in place with neat metal clips, so no need to get the tiger seal or glue out.

The owner has kindly offered to set up a group buy on these if any GT2 owners are interested, and has offered a 10% discount if 10 Pistonhead members are interested in taking up the offer.

PM me for details.

I have to say that looks like the neatest mesh installation I've seen so far. I've considered this for my 997t for some time.

Are front bumpers on turbos easy to remove?

Ok quick update, Rennline have set up a group buy for us. We need nine orders for the discount to kick in as mine counts against the ten.

Here are the details:

Basically, the customer will need to enter the key code GB139E on the shopping cart page of our website and then carry on entering their order. The orders will be held until we have accumulated 9 (I included yours as #1) orders that have used that key code. The retail pricing on these is $275USD, the group buy is price is $247.50USD, plus shipping. (Shipping for these to the UK is generally about $54USD and transit times are usually 3 days via UPS Expedited).

Here is a link to the product. http://www.rennline.com/Front-Bumper-Wire-Mesh-Gri...

As these are shipping from outside the EU don't be surprised if the UPS man/lady asks for import and duty when they deliver the screens :-(

Ram is organising an email out to owners who are on the GT2 register letting them know about the grills.
