I'm starting a new job and have been offered one of two pension options. Background: I'm nearly 40, have a couple of other pension pots from previous jobs.

Anyone any experience of the two pension schemes?

I'm leaning towards the NUVOS as it seems to be defined benefit rather than a annuity pot, which is less predictable?

Any suggestions?

Cheers

I have the NUVOS pension

Please note that noone else here will advise you on your pension because you are a civil servant. you are the devil himself. the country cannot afford you or your pension. Get lost. etc

Nuvos is the better option. I couldn't see a reason why you'd take the other options unless you already have a massive pension.

Thanks chaps. NUVOS it is then.

And apologies for becoming civil servant. I shall make sure I spend more on UK services and products smile
