Looks like my e39 M5 will be getting traded in when the first e60 second handers hit the streets!

all E60's come with i-drive....don't believe the press on i-drive. I had some reservations about it in my e60 but it is actually an excellent system, very easy to get on with.
i can only guess that most journo's who test cars don't RTFM and don't have long enough with a car to get used to it, or simply go into the test not wanting to see what it has to offer.

Sorry, you are right. The Autocar article gave the impression that i-drive has been dumped, but it hasnt.
