When im connected to the net i dont get the 2 computers symbol in the tool bar near the clock , is this an xp thing or can i make them appear in there somhow ?

Dont worry if this makes no sense im on quite a few pills as im ill

Go into connection properties for your dial up connection. It gives you an option to diplay them when connected in XP (regardless of what type of network connection you are making. I use this in house to diagnose proper lan connections rather than going round to the back of the box and looking for blinking lights)

While we're on this subject, how do you toggle auto disconnect on/off? I find that sometimes it appears, sometimes it doesn't. I like it to appear, because I'm forever forgetting to disconnect otherwise.

ive got bronchitis (think ive spelt it correctly) and am feeling rough combine the above with athsma and it makes for about 6 hours sleep in the last 48 , got to get it sorted ive got lots of to drink at a party at the weekend

You can set that through Internet Explorer tools/internet settings/connections/dial up settings/ advanced, if you are using IE. If not using IE, dunno...
