tyre choice for 996 C4S (and turbo)
Discussion
The rears on my C4S need replacing. Currently it's on CONTINENTAL SPORT CONTACT 2 N2 all round.
There appears to be 2 choices from Event Tyres (all-in price):
MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 2 N3 £283.24
or
CONTINENTAL SPORT CONTACT 2 N2 £239.12
I've read that the Michelin is a great tyre, but is it going to last 18% longer or be 18% "better"?

I'm a PS2 fan myself for what it's worth.
Also, I usually get my tyres from here

Bit cheaper if you have someone to fit them.
Cheers

....get the ones with the least grip! There appears to be 2 choices from Event Tyres (all-in price):

On a serious note, I always felt my C4S had to much rubber and wasn't playful enough without the extra torque from the TT engine. Maybe go for longevity rather than ultimate grip in the dry whatever you choose

So you've currently got Continentals all round.
But your thinking of having new Michelins on the rear axle, and worn Continentals on the front axle?
On AWD C4S I would suggest you don't have mixed tyres. So if you only want new rears, stick with Continental. If you want 4 new tyres I'd advise the Michelins. It's what I run on my 997 C4S, and michelin ran a day at Silverstone about 2 years back where I was able to back to back test Michelins v Continental v Pirelli and the Michelins did seem the best. That said they were Supersports, which I understand are not yet N2 approved!
Anyway, just my 2p. May be that you drive very conservatively and having mixed tyres will not be an issue for you.
Oh edited to add that previously ran Pirellis and personally prefer the look of those to the Michelins.....

I have just spent the last month or so keeping an eye on the price of the Michelins, Up until a few weeks ago Camskills were the cheapest at £198 each but then they shot up to the current price of £248 I think it is.
Anyway, after further shopping around and finding a 5% discount code on line the absolute cheapest is your local Formula One autocentre, I just paid £440 for 2 Michelin PS2's fully fitted 285/30/18.
