this hasnt stopped 2 people asking me today if i want to sell the hardtop to them. One offered £100 (seriously yes £100) the other a more reasonable £500. (which is slightly more than 2 people offered when I first bought the car)
but as I said in the advert, 1st refusal will go to whoever buys the car.
Nick, Firstly may I congratulate you on a pronominal car, you must be absolutely barking mad to sell!
Secondly I have a itch that I may need to scratch with the Griff. Ever since I saw Guillotine's monster Griff I have always fancied a car running on ITBs with the foam filter poking through the bonnet. The Griff is a bit poor when it comes to induction sound and ITBs certainly solve this! The question is though can you actually drive the car in the rain with the filter there and can you leave it outside in the rain?
Secondly I have a itch that I may need to scratch with the Griff. but its affecting my health driving it
im 6'5" and a larger build - and I simply dont have the room inside that I need, add that to my disability and thats just a step too far.
every time i do more than drive round the block I get out of the car in pain and will wake up the next day in pain too
rain - well I've found no issues driving it in the rain whatsoever.
when you pull up and get out and feel the filter, its generally pretty dry (and thats having driven it in some pretty torrential weather)
If when I park the car outside it even has the slightest chance of rain then I simply fit my "custom ITB cover" (several layers of bubble wrap taped along the seams - although im sure a much better looking solution could be knocked up easily and cheaply enough) and that does the job no problem.
oh and the induction noise is amazing
in my experience TVR's are mostly exhaust, mine is very very different with a real mix of both. If I had the time and money etc, then id remove the ITB's and the Omex from the S and fit a standard cosworth plenum and ecu and store them to fit to my future Chimaera (obviously along with buying another pair, readily available from Jenvey)

Its odd. I updated my PH account details as it had my old phone number and I dont want to carry 2 phones around - and for some reason PH being such a reliable website etc I then noticed the ad had disappeared.
I say odd, because I have it advertised in the trackday car part of the site, and I also have a set of bucket seats advertised too and neither of them have gone.
I've redone it, but all ads need to be moderated now so im waiting for it to be reapproved.

That is a such a shame to hear, good luck with the sale and hopefully you can build yourself a similar Chimaera as a replacement.but its affecting my health driving it

I have read that the exposed filters do stay dry when the engine is on even in heavy rain but I have never quite believed it.... so thanks for confirming that this is actually true. The bubble wrap idea for when it is parked up is a great idea.
The intoxicating blend of induction roar and exhaust is what I would like to achieve....

It is a shame you cannot take the ITBs and Omex ECU and fit to your Chim. ITBs are certainly the gold standard for naturally aspirated induction and the Omex ECU is a very good choice.

Is it back length or leg room that you're short of? The later models have longer doors, and without the rollover bar you may be able to move the seat back further. I don't know what those seats are like, but many seats have you along way off the floor and the sliders take up a lot of height too. I gained a good couple of inches by replacing the soft squishy seat with a bucket seat bolted to the floor. Although I'm 6'5 I can get in easily, and I can even keep the roof on when a crash helmet on - although it's a pretty tight fit. You may also be able to move the wheel slightly away from you. It'd be a shame to lose such a unique car if you haven't exhausted all the possibilities yet.SILICONEKID350HP said:

currently this "sewing machine" HAS around 220bhp / 220 lb ftbut its a fairly bog standard BOA map on it atm and those figures should move upwards with a decent remapping session
ive spoken to a few tuning companies and some ford ppl on forums and they all suggested 240 - 250 bhp should be easily achievable
standard car is 900kg, so allowing for 24v heads, bigger radiator and the roll over bar etc - it prob weighs in at 950kg
so power to weight ratio is excellent and is the match of any standard Chim up to 4.3
