No brake lights and reverse
Discussion
Hi all
Got a very strange problem.
I have internitent brake lights on only one side and the side that does work stops when i drive away. I also di t have any reverse lights. Everything else light wise works. It could be a bulb on the left but it doesnt explain why the right stops whe I pull away?
Any thoughts?
Cheers

Hey guys, I've also got an electrical issue so will share here, my drivers side headlight is only lighting up with about half the power it normally does but the indicator in the same unit comes on and stays on constantly when I use headlights, have the cover off and changed the bulb but no better, any ideas? I've spotted a yellow and black wire under the steering column that's not connected to anything.

If its the old style lights then its probably a breakl in the cable from lights back to connector on chassis. I had to run new wires as the earth wires had broken. Graham
I had the same symptoms
Hi guys
Ive taken off the rear clusters and checked the pins, and all seem dry and pushed in, the bulbs all seem fine too.
Ive noticed that the block connector where it mounts to the frame seems to had sheared off. I assume that the metal bracket isnt an earth point or something? Ive taped it back on but no difference.
I dont know if its been like this a while as ive not checked them, but it was the first time ive unplugged the connector to take off the clam. I must admit when i took off the clam support wires there was a moment that it dropped back and it must have pulled the blocked connector, so i hope ive not buggered up the connector, however as I said everything else is working, just not brake and reverse! Weird.
It was a nice sunny day today, so a missed day for a drive!!

I spent a whols day trying to get the rear lights to work. Check all your connections are going to the right bulb and you've got a complete circuit between the tab connector and the earth on each light. Depending on your light connections check that the connection spades aren't touching as this will cause shorts so the revesing lights go on when you use the indicaators etc.Ive taken off the rear clusters and checked the pins, and all seem dry and pushed in, the bulbs all seem fine too.
