Expensive 996 turbos ?
Discussion
Nice looking pair and obviously low miles and 2 years warranty ....
Is the price about right ?

ETA: RSJ seem to have a similar car (albeit more miles) for far far less: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

Looks like one way to lose £10k over night!
I am not certain you are right there. There is no shortage of 996 turbos above £30,000 and they seem to be the best ones available. If these motors need a bit of work then it can soon add up to 5-10k i would imagine. That said, 39k does seem a little excessive although both cars are X50 which carries quite a big premium.
The Chappell cars might be dear, but the the best does cost, and the convertible does compare well with the RSJ car - a year newer, 30+ thousand miles less and PCCBs for £5.5k more doesn't seem that bad. All depends what work has been done/needs doing to say whether they are expensive though. Metsa's car sounds like it will be underpriced if anything at £24k with that history!
The prices have slowed down now in terms of depreciation.
The good ones with good history (forget age now) standard specification/wheels etc will start to command good money, and the bottom line is there is still no better Porsche for the money.
I would suggest anybody who puts £25k into a nice early low mile example will be in for a treat.

or id probably sell mine for a £24k once i get round to finding a new toy. black 53 reg manual with 50k on clock and around £14k spent in last 2.5 years with 9Excellence, rads, clutch, air con, suspension, actuators etc etc all the usual 996tt nasties.
If I was in the market now, I'd be tempted- that sounds pretty good.

The interior is totally disgusting I'd never be able to sell it.
I'll pay you to take it. Ripped torn worn out cherry bombed carpet vomit all sorts.
The worst bit is its natural brown ruffled.
Love pistonheads
I'd be happy with that, much rather it to Savannah, green or light grey. I'll pay you to take it. Ripped torn worn out cherry bombed carpet vomit all sorts.

haha yes the green is quite challenging isnt it, but still its all good leathery stuff and its in a porsche.
I was looking for black on black, but actually natural brown sort of grows on you, i was keen to avoid cars with aftermarket seats
Well I have 'Caramel' in my car so I'm used to the look. I was looking for black on black, but actually natural brown sort of grows on you, i was keen to avoid cars with aftermarket seats

The cab was up for low 30s privately some weeks back, as I was trying to buy it, before Chappell beat me to me
(ironically 2nd car they beat me to, last time was a bona fide 05 turbo s cab, which also ended up with quite a large mark up on their site)
The cab needed some prep to get it on OPC warranty, which I should still have details on if anybody needs, unless Chappell have done the work.
I wouldn't be surprised if the coupe has a similar mark up on it, which may help with pricing.

Are you not enjoying it? I thought you only just bought it off another PH'er?
