Anyone experience difficulty with the start/stop on the Fiat 500 in cold weather? My mrs car, Stops and immediately re-starts without depressing the clutch. Also a quiet often Heavy rattle comes and goes intermediately. 8000 mile car on 12plate.

Yes, it is very annoying. I keep it switched off & will try it when the weather gets warmer.

From what I understand if the temperature is too low the start/stop won't function. Certainly been the case with my 1 series and now the 500.

We've just acquired a 3 year old 500 "dualogic" (a semi auto) with the Start Stop feature.

I don't like it because of the shudder it sends through the car when re-starting, any my wife dislikes it because when it stops, it disables the hill hold feature.

Whilst there is a button to disable it, it defaults to On every time you start the car.

I have read that the latest software for the car means that it now remembers the last setting, but apparently this software will not work on our chassis number.

Although it's not a major inconvenience having to press the button each time we start up, does anyone know of a way to permanently disable it? Perhaps pulling a fuse or something?

(Please, no debate on the merits or otherwise of start stop or driving an auto smile)
