There's a couple of threads about this car if you search for them. I think it's sound.

Done to death already, the summary was that the majority, based on zero experience whatsoever, concluded that it was sound.

I remember it being 25K was it not?
So yes a cheeky increase in price but not 4k!
Nearly tracked?

Still an interesting buy for someone.

It's not the one that 911V had for sale a while aback then? It's probs me as I'm becoming senile but I remember they had a very high mileage up for I'm sure 21k.

I would want evidence of a full engine/gearbox refresh to buy ANY car with this mileage. That would be on top of evidence that all of the usual rads, suspension arms/bushes, exhaust etc, etc had all been seen to at least once or maybe twice.

They are good cars but you need to be realistic, they don't last forever!

I'd rather wait and buy a lower mileage example and pay the extra. There are no guarantees at any mileage that you won't end up with a big bill some time, but at 185k you'd assume the odds are worse on this car

At same time, how much would it cost to 'upgrade' it to a 3.8 and a whole host of other goodies should the engine go bang or need work?

To do it properly including replacing the conrods ~ £20K. If you want to take a risk on the rods, knock £4.5K off that.
