Hi guys,

My car is having a bit of work done at the moment and one of the jobs is for the turbos to be refurbed.Think I have got a blowing manifold (s) (have been welded up before). As the turbos are off my guy is going to check to see the condition of the manifolds. If they are shot what are my options(with regards to replacements) and what costs would I be looking at ?

Cheers Chris

Get ready to spend a grand or more on new ones. If you have time. See if you can find someone who can make some. I'm sure there will be a group buy option.

I have these, so far so good. I have seen the new Noble ones and they also look very good. James @ South West Lotus Centre is your man to contact.

I believe Jetstream also have them on the shelf. Look nice. Certainly the next thing on the list for me.

I bought a brand new pair of the stainless steel manifolds from a generous chap on here.

Have never fitted the front one though as didn't need doing. Any thoughts of how big a job that is for Jetstream?

It's not hard, just a bit fiddly.

Front manifold can be changed in half an hour, pretty easy, unbolt turbo from manifold flange 4x bolts and nuts and pull the down pipe with turbo still on top out the way, remove 6 retaining nuts from the block, remove manifold with metal gasket, wipe gasket clean and replace with new manifold, re-fit 6 x nuts to block side and try replace the 4 bolts through turbo flange without bleeding fingers and you get a prize.

Assume the 1/2 hour is based on all new shinny stainless steel nuts etc & not original rusty corrided ones !
