Oil Pressusre drops with revs

Having been driving round France on holiday, have noticed that oil pressure has started dropping at over 3700 rpm.
Chimaera 450 98 normally 30psi idle, 40 psi at anything above 2000rpm. Oil level is at the top mark.
Acelerate above 3700 rpm and pressure progressively drop down to 20psi on the gauge as soon a you back off it returns to normal 40 psi.
Any ideas? Gauge? Sensor? Impending engine failure? Will be getting it checked professionally.

Seem to remember reading identical symptoms elsewhere on Pistonheads a few weeks ago. From what I remember the concensus was that it may be a sensor/wiring fault, but maybe a search would turn up the actual thread.

I did do a check in previous posts, I will look again though, as you say hopefully just a wiring/sensor fault.

New sensor and problem solved.
