Im assuming quite a few PHers have GT3.

What cars do you "drive" regularly ?

Despite having loads of frankly unfeasable exotica in my GT3 garage (1019 bhp Esprit,1700 bhp Suzuki , Panoz, lots of Tuscans,etc- ive got one of those cheat discs that gives you 999999999 credits !) my favourite is a 600bhp Griff (in white) with standard wheels (i wanted RL7s but couldnt get them ).

Every time i play i usually use this Griff on my favourite track - Laguna Seca (American championship, watch all the american stuff lose it on the corners).
Dont seem to feel right with EVO 7s and stuff (although the rear drive 700 bhp Nissan zx300 is fun on the rally stages).

Anybody else got a favourite car and track ?

Have to admit I bat for the other side. I have Project Gotham on my X Box. Love the Tuscan, although a bit hard to handle. Probably pretty realistic then.

Hadn't used mine for a while, until this w/e.

Got all my cars the hard way (i.e. too stingy to pay for cheats) and have a full spec. Griff, Speed 12, and Viper GTSR Concept.

The Griff is fun, but is comprehensively outgunned in the higher ranking races.

I'd dearly love to get the SPeed 12 to handle and not trash it's tyres, but never found how. The thing just seems set to understeer like a bastard (which apparently is what the early sp12 really did), so unitl I can afford something better, I find the Viper GTSR has a fantastic blend of power & handling, and always seems fairly predictable, even when the tyres are shot.

Saving up for a Panoz.

In the lower rankings, a 350hp Mazda MX5 that is set up just beautifully, it even trail brakes into corners completely predictably. As a real starter car, a turbo'd Daihatsu Cuore XXRTRthingumajig that spanked everything it could enter in the beginner's league.

In the middle rankings, I've not got all that far, but I'm working on a 600hp Corvette which has the speed, I just need to get more mechanical grip for the slow speed stuff. The various 4wd jobbies are fun but I find them frustrating to drive as I can't work out how to corner on the throttle when nearing the limit, so I tend to be too slow or run wide in corners.

Might not be in the spirit of competition to use it too much, but the Pagani Zonda is just marvellous

My favourite is my black 4WD Tommy Kaira ZZII and the original GT40. Anyone completed 100%? I'm on about 89%.

Got to be the 787B - a replica of the car in which Johnny Herbert won Le Mans. Seemingly incapable of understeer or lift-off oversteer and massively quick - even though it's only a 5-speed.

Problem is that when running in some of the longer series, such as the Professional level GT World Championship, that bloody oil light comes on and you find that even though you change the oil when you finish the series you're still down on power.

I must admit that a well setup and balanced Scooby or Evo with around 500 - 650 BHP is stonking. Currently running an Evo with 650 BHP, uprated yaw control and some serious other mods. On the twisty circuits there is not much that can even get close - coupled with my "do or die" driving style.

However, not had much time to dedicate recently (called a 15 month son who loves to pull cables!). But with GT2 on the PSOne, I won that Nissan RWD race car (a four door Silvia Turbo if I remember right). The balance on that was stunning and nothing could get close to it - not even the 900BHP monsters.... anyone else see this one?

Cheers,

Paul

P.S. Was I dreaming, but isnt another GT coming out for the PS2?

I've got to about 97%. All races complete except the endurance with the MX-5, which I really can't be bothered with. I think you need Gold in all the licenses to get to 100%. My garage is pretty full, and I've got all the good cars except the Nissan GT car (390 something or other).

But not as fast as the Toyota GT-One racecar or any of the F1 cars.

'Fraid to admit that I've managed 100% All Gold Licenses etc.... (No Cheats Either!!)

Got a life, girlfriend, etc and haven't played the thing for months now.... although I'm on my own tonight, so I might just be tempted

What would get me playing again though on a regular basis is the full steering wheel, brake pedal setup, connected to a 42 inch plasma screen, duplicated for two player racing.....

I have to admit that my fav is the Vanquish tuned. It sound the nuts all through the rev range, and will poweroversteer at the slightest provocation - controllable too with the anologue buttons. Just understeers like a bastid if you don't oversteer right - which when racing is well slow - but who cares when its sound like heaven.

The other fav car is the Tusacn Speed Six, which is actually a very quick and nimble car. Looks and sounds the nuts too.

In GT3 I find that the sound of the car is well important, as a washing machine sound dosen't inspire me. Eh, Evo drivers?....
