Garmin 800 & OS 1:25 maps - can it be done?

I bought myself a garmin edge 800 for christmas. it's a brilliant gizmo - I'm really happy with it.
One thing that would be nice is if I could get 1:25k maps from OS onto it. I called the Garmin tech support and they were useless. Seems I have two options.
1. Buy 1:25k maps from garmin - they only have select locations (national parks etc) - none of them cover where I live.
2. Buy official OS maps - paper copies seem to be readily available, but they don't seem to publiize their electronic offering
Has anyone got this to work? All I want is the OS 147 explorer map - sevenoaks and tonbridge - on my garmin
Note: at the risk of stating the obvious - I'm not looking to do anything dodgy, I'm quite happy to pay for the maps, I just can't seem to find a way that is confirmed to work.

OpenStreepMap is 1:50 but is free and routable on Garmin 800, that's what I use
