Just in the process of buying a nice SLK 230 Kompressor for the Missus. Have found the right car and I even enjoyed driving it myself too, although it lacks a bit of grunt, it should make a nice partner for the Tamora in the garage!!
However, what I need to know is how often the service intervals are? I can't find any reference to it in the manuals. Anyone out there have an idea?

Cheers

Andy

My mum has one, the car will tell you when it needs a service. A little symbol comes up and the trip counter changes to read " service in 400 miles" or something like that. Hope that's what you wanted to hear.

Mmmmm. My concern is that this car has done 10K miles since it last met the mechanics..... what I need to know is what the average time between services is...

Cheers for that John, much appreciated.

Taken from a Merc website

"Flexible Service System. The Flexible Service System in 2000 and newer Mercedes automatically tells you when your vehicle should be taken in for regular maintenance. The system determines service intervals based on how you drive your Mercedes, not just how far. It keeps track of several variables, including:
Engine Temperatures, Vehicle Speeds, Engine Speeds,
Distances Driven, Time Elapsed Since Your Last Service

Your Mercedes-Benz will alert you well ahead of time that a maintenance service is impending, with a countdown in days and miles. The most important thing is that you can forget about having to remember the regular maintenance schedules yourself. Your Mercedes has it handled."

Just like my TVR.

Cheers Guys. The Missus will be using it 90% of the time so it should need a service every 100,000 miles...........

Not the kind of motor you "kick the knackers off" really....

I love Mercs and enjoy a nice luxurious cruise in one. I wouldn't be thrashing her pride and joy, it would be more than my life was worth

(might get kicked-down a bit more when I drive it though )

It's an annual Cambridgeshire TVR Car Club gathering, this year it's been designated a National Event.

I have a nasty suspicion that it's been deliberately organised for August 10th to coincide with my holiday abroad.
