Sorry if this has been discussed before, i did do a quick search. Does anyone know anything about this car? im off to look at it this Saturday its based on a 89 C4. i know it's not everyones cup of tea, but with a few changes could be a cool car. Would love any information on it if anyone recognises it though. Front is original flatnose, rear is wide body Strosek. Front spolier is Zeemax. Would benefit from some BBS wheels i think.

Cheers

A 964 c4 with 930 flatnose fenders, mismatching front and rear bumpers on mazda mx5 wheels?

It's the definition of nasty!

I hope it's an auto as well. Would really finish it off!

I think it looks nice.

Wheels would look better in silver though.

Definitely worth a look if it has good history and is cheap.
One day it will be worth enough to warrant spending the money on it to return it to a 'normal' 964 wink

Not sure how to value things like this, but Strosek and Zeemax would put me off, although it doesn't look to bad in the pics. I would expect it to be very cheap though.

Given the rarity of genuine 964 flatnoses it cetainly stands out although it looses its 964ness.

Yeah i do agree, i think the rear arches mean you would only ever be able to get it back to a Turbo 2 look without spending big bucks. i think i need to wait and see it in the flesh and see what the rest of the car is like. it is cheap!

What sort of money is the seller asking?

I don't know the car but it's worth a look.

Ignore the purists, I'm sometimes one of them but that looks pretty good in black.
I take it you've had extensive chats with the owner about who did the conversion and why. As long as it wasn't fitted due to the car suffering damage or anything it could be good.

I'm guessing the front wings and rear arches are fibreglass? Have a good poke around the rear arches to see how they've done the wide arch conversion and check for rot under those sideskirts, especially at the bottom of the rear quarter panels. I don't particularly like those but if they haven't hacked things about you could look at changing them to 964T items at some point.

There is so much could be wrong with that car, you need to have a bloody good inspection of it. If you're not totally sure take someone who does. I'll put money on those rear arches echoing the road noise a lot. You'll get such a thwack! going over expansion joints in motorway bridges etc, but how often will you be doing that.

Like I say, I quite like it with a wheel change obviously, to some veloce 3.6s or something.
How much is it up for? And has it had an engine rebuild yet? That's £5k+ straight away.

Anyway, be very suspicious until you have proven the car not to be a pup. Good luck! smile

I agree; with a few changes it could be a nice car.

The purists will probably not be a fan, and to me a 964 Flatnose is this slice of loveliness:

But nonetheless, if the price is right I don't see why not.

That is gorgeous, doesn't a dealer have 2 of these for sale or something?

Is it dark blue or black?

I love the look but I love flatnoses. Sitting on some BBS E88 with the correct ride height it would look great. Or the 964 CUP split rims would look great.

Hmm, like I say check it CAREFULLY.

He says receipts for clutch, gearbox recon and engine rebuild so that's a plus, but see how long ago they were.

He says angel eye headlights but hows that if the lifting mechanisms don't work. he's not using the fogs as headlights is he!?

Grubby interior, but I'd just rip it out and fit a pair of recaros anyway. rear lights/reflector are shot, there's £700.

Have a look though but I'd say £9k max.

In terms of condition, the interior does not give a good impression. Check very carefully.
