My battery has failed. Seems to be open circuit and will hardly power the interior lights.
I am looking to replace it with a Bosch S5 004 which is equivalent to a 075
Has anyone used one of these as the casing looks a but different to some car batteries.
Do I need to take the panel below the engine off to change the battery? Is it a difficult job.
The S5 is a good price at Costco and is warrantied for 5 years or as long as you are a member do Costco. I don't use the car much and the last battery despite being on a trickle charger only lasted 3 years.
Thanks
Andrew

As long as it crosses over to the 075 then it should be OK, you don't need to remove any panels as it comes out of the hole it sits over. You do need to jack up the car, take off the O/S wheel, the rest can be done from underneath or from the top..it's a faff tho. If you aren't handy with the spanners you might struggle a bit, you can take the panels off in the O/S arch to make it easier.
I bought a 075 Varta Gold which has been fine BTW.

If you are set on a Bosch, then this is the best option.

I wonder how they'll feel after 2 hours digging around under a Nob in a wet car-park

It was £49 + VAT in Costcos so not too bad and its warrantied as long as you are a member no questions.
Whilst I was there I also got a quote for Michelin Sport Cups in the standard size. They were £995 per set including VAT. Costcos regularly have buy 4 tyres and get 20% off so that will make them £800 a set. I'll be watching for that deal and buying mine then.
