To retro fit a splitter spoiler. Took a few tries to get the stabiliser bar sorted but it all fits ok now.
Matching the hole positions to the spoiler wasn't as hard as I expected it to be.
Anyway, Road trials tomorrow.

Works a treat and finishes off the car niceley. I've also noticed that at speeds over 70, the front doesn't feel quite so light. It used to jump around a bit but hasn't done it since I fitted the spliiter. All together a good investment but I don't think I'd just rely on the bolts and not fit the bar between the bonnet fixings

Sounds useful! Will have to find some time too then!

The bar is just primered and the splitter is Gel coat black. My car is Oslo Blue so it works well. I'm not sure if the lighter 'S' models have the splitter colour coded or not?

If its not too rude could you tell me how much the splitter kit costs. I take it that you purchased via a main dealer.

It's about £200 all in from www.tvrbodyshop.co.uk. I'll let you know the exact price when my invoice arrives... should be getting/fitting it tomorrow.

I bought the spoiler direct from tvrbodyshop as well and had a local engineering company make the bar up based on some dimensions I took from an original. I'd been trying to get original parts for ages but tvr wouldn't supply direct without an original 'S' Chassis number.

Erk. Didn't realise it doesn't come with the bar. Hmmmm. Got those dimensions to hand?

There's a beer in it at BT&P for ya...

I honestly wouldn't fit it until you've got hold of a bar. It takes a good few hours to fit it all and you'd only have to take it all apart again.
I know a guy who doesn't have the bar fitted and he says it's fine but with the wind loads involved, personally I wouldb't risk it, especially if it breaks off haf way round Europe...

If it breaks off half way round, then that's at least half of the trip with better stability. I'm not just "doing it myself", mind... off up to Joolz's to get some expert help tonight. Imagine he'll be able to find some way of securing it.

Update: Joolz fitted it this evening, took half an hour/an hour to do. As well as putting screws through the back of it, he made up a couple of brackets that hold it at the front edge, too. Can't imagine a bar'd give any additional benefits.

Total price from TVR Bodyshop was £240 including delivery. Seems a bit excessive, really. But it does add a few MPH to my "comfortable" cruising speed before the nose gets twitchy.

Got a feeling I've been charged for the rear one...

Man, I'm looking forward to a week of drink & driving! 36 hours to go.

I was quoted £500-00 all in for front and rear colour coded which isn't a bad price but I only wanted the front one.

That's not bad at all... I've already got the "S" badge on the back, as other than for the rear spoiler that's exactly what the car is in terms of performance, so I'll be doing that at the same time as getting it resprayed. (Got a feeling it'll need it after next week!)

hi Mark
had my front splitter on for 6K miles with only the 4 bolts holding it on, haven't had any problems.
