Having read all I could find on the tunnel cooling mod, I decided it was time to get down to it. And instantly ran into an 'every one's different' situation. Two of my cooling ducts have already been diverted to cool the front brakes. I am therefore only going to divert one of the remaining two to the tunnel. The question I would welcome input on is this: the heating box has two inlets closed off already, I presumably have to close off the third to get some pressurisation from the remaining one input duct when moving. Will this cause problems when I use the fan? Basically will it get choked by having so many of its input apertures closed off?

Do away with the brake cooling ducts as you really don't need them, connect two to the ventilation box & the other two to the tunnel. Sorted

I'm reluctant to do that as my main use is trackdays, brakes are fine on track so 'if it ain't broke .....'.

Add another cooling duct on each side of the front scoop bits that's whAt I done

That's an interesting idea, is there a filter to keep out stones and suchlike?

Only the grill which I put a bigger mesh in. Never had a problem. Two for brakes two for tunnel and to for heater box

just a thought, and I'm no expert, so don't mean to interfere. The white laced ducting has a sharp right angle upwards almost immediate after entry point, would this tube not be better following the path of the other 2 pipes making a gentler path? Maybe the clam wont allow this option.. but surely the smoother the entry the more effective. Should there be any bottleneck of airflow, this would be better contained further down tube than buffering up near the front.

The clam does allow a more direct route, not sure if it makes any difference.

This is how I did mine on that side

I notice you and funkybmx1 have the infil in front of the wheel. Is it to reduce drag or increase downforce?

Think to reduce the air under the front clam. Adrian w will no the proper results from the wind tunnel testing. It's a good point about the point of the pipe. Think plenty of air goes threw. And I like the tideness of it

My car is used almost exclusively for trackdays. Never had an issue with heat/brakes in 7 yrs.

Not sure if the ducting is necessary or not, but I had the long pedal at Rockingham (not too funny at 110 at the end of that long straight lol!) and I was concerned that the infill panels, which I made and fitted later, could restrict air to the brakes if they do their job so I fitted the ducting at the same time.

(I had fresh high temp brake fluid and appropriate new updated pads at Rockingham by the way, hence thinking I must need some cooling smile )

Good point. Don't know what effect those front infills have on brakes, as I don't have any (infills that is). To me they are another pointless mod - who has issues with turn-in in a Noble? So in real world terms why would you look for more front end grip? The only thing you will notice on road and track is that your front tyres wear out quicker (and quite possibly as you suggest they may help fry your brakes). If you're planning on doing Vmax events in a high powered car then possibly there might be some noticeable stability at high speeds provided by the infills.

I've no idea either, but it is interesting that the GT-R designers spent ages getting air to go into the front engine and wheel area, rather than trying to stop it....

They were more interested in getting air to flow around the side so that they could suck out the air shoved in at the front it seems, hence the subtle canards added to the MY11 front bumper.

The infill panaels main advantage is to reduce front end lift at speed , not sure why you feel it will increase tyre wear , if anything the lack of lift and slight improvement in front end grip should improve tyre wear as you get less slip on the front tyres .
I too have never had any brake problems but it does depend massively on the way you use them , brake rotor condition ect .

Slip=0 therefore more wear.
