Louder Indicators.....
Discussion
Anyone seen the advert? Cant remember what the car is (the advert was that good!!!!!) but it looks completely stupid. Anyway, what is the point of having indicators that get louder the faster you go? IMO only complete numpties will ever make use off it. If you cant remember to switch off your indicators then surely you aren't fit to drive? Who gets paid to think up such pish?(Anyone on here?)

I wish my Lotus had these faster/louder indicators. The automatic switch off thing on the steering column hasn't worked for ages and I'm always getting flashed or indicated at to let me know I'm still indicating. Years ago I saw an indicator warning beeper in a motor factors, I don't know if you can still get them, maybe I'll look into it. Rather that, than a new Vauxhall Vectra, not my cup of tea at all, but I for one am not going to slag off the louder/ faster indicators as I think they are a good Idea!
Think most cars have a flashing light on the dash don't they!?!
If you don't notice that...
The Midget has very poor indicator dashlights, a quiet click in a noisy car, and autocancelling that probably worked for all of 5 minutes after leaving the factory.
But I found I soon learnt to switch them on and off as required. Afterall you do that when changing lane (ie they don't autocancel) so a junction isn't much different. Rocket science it is not.

My kit had a buzzer for indicators, 'cos of cr@p mot regulations. The loom I had didn't have hazard warning system. So thinks I, connect one indicator on then the other through the same flasher unit and you get hazards. Not allowed, had to be on on-off switch so rewired a completely new circuit, but as it didn't go through the same circuit it didn't have a telltail (even though the swtch was on the dash and obviously on or off). So fitted a buzzer on the indicator circuit where my new circuit joined. Can still remember the meeeep meeeep everytime I indicated.
Just managed to see the advert, what a cracker its the face of the woman numptie in the jury that goes "wow what a good idea" that cracks me up . Also the way the lawyers saying of course it has cup holders etc. (like you're supposed to give a sh*t) Vauxhaul could do themselves a big favour and change advertsising agencies.
Oh yes whats so special about windscreen wipers that turn on automatically? I cannot see any use for this at all, if I can see rain on my windscreen obscuring my view I turn on my wipers its not exactly a hard concept.

The second-hand 206 I just bought for 'her indoors' has this 'feature'. It only works if you leave the wipers switched to intermittent wipe, when they are off, they are off, etc.etc. What a complete waste of time, basically all they do is adjust the intermittent wipe delay according to the amount of rain or spray.
