We've had a massive thread on what everyone does for a living - and a jolly fine thread it was too

However, there are clearly a lot of poeple who would rather be doing something else.

M@H wants to own a trout fishery - clearly he's the bastard love child of Roger Daltrey - he'll be advertising Barclaycard before you know it

I want to become an author and am looking to move into that in the next 3-5 years.

However, if I had my time again I think I'd want to be a lawyer.

No regrets about what I'm doing now really - I'm using my given talent, just if I'd known then what I know now etc...

What about everyone else?

(I don't wanna know that you'd rather have been a test driver for Ferrari/Porsche/TVR - we all would but we can't! )

Sorry all.

I did always want to be a car designer. I draw quite often and I for some reason found that the ideas I had appeared a few years later. But I believe you have to think a lot further ahead in order to be 'on the ball'.

Anyway back to normal smutty inuendo service

Well, I rather like what I do as a Lloyd's Underwriter(and thank god I don't work in I.T. how boring) but a good alternative would be running my own car dealership selling various exotica, along the lines of Stanley Mann's Bentley garage at the 'Fruit Farm'.

And I say this having worked as a 'graduate trainee used car salesman' (no, I'm not kidding). That was some time ago

Given my time again, Research Biologist or Marine Biologist. Either that or Ron Dennis' job would do rather well thank you.

Lesbian space cadet - To boldly go where no Lesbian has gone before, seeking out new species of Lesbians and getting a good portion of it.

But if that post was unavailable , something to do with car restoration as I’ve done a fair bit and enjoy it.

A mate of mine did this for a laugh and now he's making seriously money, and getting serious numbers of girls (talking at least 50 a yr). Actually another one of our friends ended up doing very well out of it (he's now known as DJ Luck).

There is a lot of money to be made in the clubbing scene, but its back stabbing cut throat stuff at the high end.

Me, I'd take schuey's job if its going, thanks.

CC, I've often thought dealing in exotica would be interesting too.

I'm going to be moving out of the UK in a few years with my girlfriend. The most likely destination is New Zealand. Will probably end up still working for a design consultants though. It's more an attraction to sunnier climates than a job change.

Fantasy job: F1 driver. The thrills, the yachts, the Monaco totty, the millions...

Almost 'inambitious', but sometimes wish I had become a spanner wielding mechanic.

Would have been nice to specialise in exotics/classics, perhaps even bodywork (an underated skill I reckon), but a simple mechanic really does appeal at times (and always has).

Anybody else feel they were pushed by careers-teacher-types into the A-levels and Uni route?

Cheers, Phil

Well my dream job would be professional downhill mountain biking. What I will probably do is just go a lot further in IT. But if I had my way that would be my choice, it is what I love, the people involved are all so cool and laid back. I just think being able to live doing something I love is my dream. However, jumping down a flight of steps, having a crank arm break and then hearing a little crack in the ankle direction meant that this was never to be
