Spoke to a Porsche Centre with regard to a used GenII GT3RS they had last Wednesday. Arranged to come and see the car on Saturday Morning.

Got a text from salesman on Thursday stating that the car was going up by £2k and if i wanted to view it on Saturday would need to put a £1k dipper down over the phone with credit card as they had also had another call on the car.

Politely declined. Car is still for sale.

Is this normal for Porcshe Centres - i have no experience with them?

Have a look here for some context.

Prices seem to be a moving feast at the moment on GT3s.

Not normal but not unheard of.

Don't expect top flight service unless you're buying new and often.

perhaps the OPC feels it can charge more as it's the only 7.2 RS in the entire UK Porsche network.

they should like shysters ..

Perfectly reasonable behavior, prices change. This may sound harsh and its not intended to be, but nobody moans when a price drops. They are their to make money.

No issue with them making money, just came across as a bit door to door double glazing, 'twas enough to put me off, shame as it seemed a nice example.

I wouldn't have been at all happy in the op's position.

As if putting the price up is not bad enough, but communicating this by text is a complete lack of professionalism imo. It also suggests that the salesman didn't have the balls to communicate this verbally.

Quite possibly, but reflects the growing trend of complacency towards customers by opc's

I had a similar experience before christmas, went to see a red GT3 at cambridge OPC advertised at £67,900, they had advertised it with front lift system, so it looked cheap compared to what was on the market at the time. On inspection the spec differed from what was listed on porsche website and i carried on looking . I spoke to them on 27th of December they told me they had increased the price to £69,400. They sold it in the second week of January. So it is normal procedure, obviously works for them!!

Front lift I am guessing.

OPCs customer service has been known to been average at best. But there are a few good ones out there for sure!

The front axle lifting system. I understood it was impossible to get the spec wrong because they have factory build spec. From entering vin number. But it happens!!!!

Over priced car. The previous owner is on here as well.
But as its the only one, as has been said, they can ask what they like.

OK. I saw the car on Porsche's AUCL, and lift was not listed.

also from the pics, as I'm sure you now know, the lift button (extra 3rd button on bottom left, next to "Sport") was not present
