Hi,

As part of my used approved purchase, an aluminium look petrol cap was supplied to me. I received this in the post today for my 997 TT but it has no instructions.

What's odd is that they have supplied 2 ring fitments with different plastic connectors on them, as if trying to cover their bases. There is also a screw like thing which I imagine you have to force through the connector to hold in place with the body of the car.

Anyone have any ideas why there might be 2 different connectors (it seems like the are offering a choice) and how to remove and replace the cap?

Thanks!

Phone your supplying dealer and ask?

Or is that a stupid answer?

I'd stick it in a drawer.

Hahaha! Why would an authorised Porsche dealer sell you a 997TT and then send you such a thing?

I apologise for the daft reply, especially when you tried to avoid them from us retards, but I just wondered what was going on?

Is the cap not a plastic one covered by a metal panel?

Haha, no worries, all par of the course. Yes, to think someone might pay the £140 for it, quite unbelievable. I am the kind of person who eats everything on my plate though, so bearing this in mind, will persist. This was a tiny part of the sign on the dotted line package; you should see my shiny new 911 desk clock, vroom, vroom

What's the point of it, being behind the flap and all, or am I being Fick?
