Mark

How do you find your 5D3 compared to your 1DS2.

Resolution is higher, screen is better, battery life better.........ergonomics?
Also, does it more or less replace you 1D2 for sports? Fps aren't that different between the two.

Cheers

I love it, the AF is at least as good as the 1 series I had (1D2 and 1Ds2), the screen is better, battery life is very good although I use liveview a lot for aligning grads etc so that gets through it a bit, spares are smaller and lighter to carry than NP-E3s. Ergonomics are good and I don't miss the weight of the 1Ds2. The only thing which might make a difference is if you shoot handheld in portrait a lot, though you could fit a battery grip. I shoot 99% of shots from a tripod so it makes no difference. It does replace my 1Ds2 although I've hung onto it as it makes a good second body for weddings, events etc. Longer term I will be looking to get another 5D3 to replace the 1Ds2, I would get a 6D as I think they're lovely and would make an ideal backup and travel body but I do like having dual slots for events, weddings etc and would miss it on the 6D.

Thanks Mark

So you think of very highly then!
For me to get one would mean the loss of the 1DS2 so I'd need to be sure!

The focus system certainly seems a step up. ISO, how high can you comfortably go before IQ starts to noticeably degrade?

High ISO is awesome, for most of my work it isn't an issue but for events and weddings a useable ISO6400 is a luxury.

This is 6400

Thanks for the example, still plenty of detail ...anyone know how the ISO ability compares with the 1D4?
