Fixed Rate Mortgages - Whats best just now?
Discussion
Just about to break out of our current deal - I have fallen out with the RBS big style and will be moving all my finances lock, stock to another provider.
Just looking at options for a fixed rate mortgage with a LTV of around 60%.
Preference is 5 yrs with a lowish upfront free (helps make the break worthwhile).
Nationwide have the best interest rate and lowest fee, but 5% penalty for 5yrs is steep. There is also a cap of £500 a month overpayments.
Firstdirect is slightly higher rate interest and upfront free but no limit on overpayments and I like their penalty profile better.
Anyone else we should consider?
