Hi All,
Today I got the car up on pallets to do the exhaust, cold as hell but found a spare bottle of gas, crap pictures as I was trying to take them on my back, these are just hanging with wire hope to weld all the brackets on sunday, (snow allowing).

Alan when you started this I thought it was all a pipe dream another 'I'm going to put a 'kin great engine in an S' thread that would never happen.

I have to say I have massive respect for what you have achieved so far and its a shame I don't live nearer I'd have loved to see it progress in the metal.

Hi All.
Thanks for that Chris. Well a cold day down at the workshop, longer job than expected and a bit still to finish off through the week. I had my son to help me, so with a bit of trying this and that we got all the X pipe through to the front done, ran out of 63mm tight elbows for connecting the back boxes up, I ran the pipes a bit wider so I could have as much clearance as I could get, in the end we got 110mm under the cherry bombs (might have a bump in the floor as it has about 5mm from the floor).
I have it so I can take anything off the car without removing any of the exhaust, next job is to tig up all the sections and brackets to the pipes.

Again not the best pictures

Hi Alan,
I'm loving the rear view, I've a feeling that's all most people are going to see ( briefly ) once you're on the move. Awesome. thumbup
Looks like it could have afterburners!

Alan are you taking the pics with your phone?
If so put it on a 2 second timer delay so you are not pressing the button & moving the phone when the shutter goes. Hope this makes sense.

Just squeeze the button really slowly, it can be difficult to take blur free pics when the light is poor as the shutter stays open longer. 2 second delay may still help. The challenge is finding it in the menus!

Hi All
Just got the full exhaust done, front to back, couple of pieces to weld together but all there, need to make some offset bends to come up past the steering to connect the turbo's to the system but ran out of bits (another ebay trip).

Alan are you making a bespoke fuel tank? The standard one won't fit with the exhaust rear boxes there will it? Or are you changing the body to accomodate them can't quite work it out.

Hi All
One fuel tank made and fitted. I had this made about a year ago 65 ltrs, its the shape of the boot floor and has a VDO sender unit with low fuel warning. It allows for the exhaust back boxes to fit (small humps) either side of the tank, I have a cover which allows me to get to the diff bolts if I need to take the diff out.

Hi All
Just an update, yesterday and today I managed to get the whole exhaust welded up and fitted, just got to make a pr of elbows from the turbo's to the system. I have got 4 1/2" clearance by running the cans to the outside side of the chassis rails, just under the part where my foot will rest so it might just keep my feet warm in winter, I have about 1/2" from the can to the floor,
Next week I can take the body back off and start the strip down for powder coating, has the anybody used anything el's to paint the chassis with and how is it doing.
No pictures today as I left the camera at home, so will do some through the week

Just taken these

Alan
