Following in the footsteps of the Caterham Blackbird, this (Fireblade) new Seven has exploited the benefits of a motorcycle power unit, but packaged it into a highly cost effective vehicle. The chassis is based on the live axle Seven, combining proven technology with
the reliable, powerful and lightweight Honda Fireblade power unit. This engine produces 130bhp and drives the rear wheels through a sequential 6-speed gearbox. Aimed mainly at the track day enthusiast, this car is most at home lapping the circuits of Europe, well away from the prying eyes of speed cameras. But this by no means makes the car exclusive for the circuit: this fully road legal car is as happy on the country B roads as it is breaking lap records. And with an overall weight of under 400kg, a power to weight ratio of over 325 bhp/ton and a starting price from £17,000, this new Seven represents fantastic value for money. As standard, the car is specified for track day use, although still road legal. Customers wishing to broaden its appeal can fit options such as full screen, weather equipment and heater. To look after the sales and service of this unique model, Caterham have teamed up with "James Whiting Sevens", <<<
Personally, I prefer the 500bhp/ton R500 (twice the price though ) But you should get a drive and see if you like 'em! www.caterhamfireblade.com www.blackbirdmotorsport.co.uk
