Hi all,
We will be moving house soon and have viewed a property in Clophill that we like. I am orgionaly from Mid-beds so know the areas, but moved to Northants some 20 years ago and now heading back this way. Only knowing Clophill from my past as a nice area, what are peoples views and opinions today? School catchments are great, village shop, pub etc are all good, but wanting to know more about peoples opinion of the area - good or bad (if any). Not wanting to offend anyone and can PM me if required.
Many thanks for your help.

We live in Clophill and have done so for the last 20 years, moved three years ago but stayed in the village. You obviously know all the reasons for heading here regarding access to A1/M1, choice of railway lines (Flitwick and Arlsey) a few minutes away, school, walks etc.
The Stone Jug is still a 'proper' pub and long may it continue. Good community spirit, the annual fete includes a car parade and there is an active group looking after the village. Plenty of places nearby by to visit as well.
The only negative points are on Halloween, Police shut part of the village off because of the number of visitors up to the 'Old Church' and occasionally some noise from that end of the village when people go up there and spook themselves. Part of the village in in the Conservation area which restricts what you can do to a property.
As for the car gatherings, in my view cars with less than six cylinders or more shouldn't be allowed

Hi, where you buying?? lived in clophill for a long time, everything cool accept the supercar gatherings that upset the quiet village atmosphere lol, the guy that started that off needs shooting!!!
We have purchased a property in Great lane - seems very quite, and not too far away from the pubs. Used to live in Shefford area about 20 years ago so know the area relitivly well Hi, yes i know the one you been, the green never gets too busy but you have to endure the noise of the A6, think that house been on the market for quite sometime, often if Flying horse gets busy people park on high street outside that particular house, knew someone who lived there years ago remember it as being quite nice tho.
Just had a look at it, looks good for the money!! might need a bit of work, but lookss like a good investment, ok downside! all school buses go from outside the green, would recommend viewing at 8 in morning! my best mate used to live in Ashwell, loves coming to Flying Horse so it cant be too bad lol!!
KNOW OF THE LAST THREE OWNERS THERE, THINK THE LAST RESIDENTS HAD QUITE A LOT OF WORK DONE ON THE HOUSE, ITALIANS I THINK? BE NICE AND QUITE THERE NOT MUCH TRAFFIC, WE LIVED UP LITTLE LANE (TWICE) A WHILE AGO, EVERYONE ROUND THERE REALLY FRIENDLY, NO KNOWN NEIGHBOURS FROM HELL, KNOW THE GARDNERS NEXT DOOR ! WHAT LOOKS LIKE ONE HOUSE IS IN FACT 3 OR 4 HOUSES EACH WITH A FAMILY MEMBER RESIDING.HOPE ALL WORKS OUT OK,
