I have just about had enough of tv adverts using reworked versions of classic songs sung by hormonally imbalanced female singers.
Is there no end to this piss poor trend ?

Crazy Crazy nights ruined, Power of Love ruined and plenty more too painfull to remember but now we have the worst yet - Dont Stop only without any music ! Everyone involved should be slapped.

Surely this is not going going to be released as a single like Power of Love was ?

Sorry rant over but I cant be the only one getting cheesed off with it frown

Not keen either. Choirs doing pop songs in ads grate on me.

I have to say I have a, very slight, vested interest in "Don't Stop" as the singer is a friend of my daughter's, but I read somewhere that the clip in the ad is all there is, it's not a sample from a full track.

Obviously, I'd be happy for this one to be released as a single and storm the chart making a girl with some talent (rather some hopeless wannabe from Simon Cowell's cookie-cutter) a huge star, but it does seem to be a bit of a fad in advertising circles at the moment.

I suppose there's a hook in that you think "I know this..." and so pay some attention, rather than just hearing a piece of music you recognise and going about your normal business.

Gotta hit the mute button when they come on.
Your right, it seems to be a trend, a very annoying one at that.

What are you going to do when you've had enough?

I think I can remember an advert a while ago that featured a cover version of The Boxer, it actually made me angry. No one should be allowed to cover The Boxer unless they can improve it, and it's been scientifically proven that that's impossible. mad

Kudos to Ford then, for using a genuine Hawkwind track in the B-Max advert.

Sorry but the 'Dont Stop' one is most annoying to me. It's find the remote time when it comes on..

Just saw the Dont stop tonight - load of old toss, but then all adverts are arnt they ?

Thats what V+/Sky+ was invented for....

My guess is that its probably cheaper to pay rights to use just the lyrics tahn the whole song.

Funnily enough I was saying exactly the same thing when I heard the ad with Don't Stop last night. I think the ad co's have worked out that winding up middle aged people like me gets them noticed more mad

The worst ones for the are the ones where they get a child or children's choir to sing the song, just sounds unbelievably st and is an obvious tug at the heartstrings of fools who will be easily parted with their money.
