Preparing for a performance review
Discussion
Hi All,
I have my review next week. I have met my (only) objective but I would like to go on a conference around the £1k mark (I am in IT btw).
I've got and will bring the supporting documentation for my objectives but what else can I do to prepare for a performance review and ensure I get what I want out of it?
Thanks

A lot of companies use 'weighted ranking', meaning amongst other things that they have a list of well defined 'things' to rate you on.
You could ask the reviewer or a colleague who has recently had a review for a list of areas that are covered so you can prepare.
I would also think about what others got out of their review (or didn't). If the company position is that there is no budget then that might override your good performance.
