Sitting in front of one right now at work.
What's the issue and I can ask my boss.

Just looking to install one and wanted to speak to someone who knows more about them. There are quite a few companies dotted about but you never really know who is good.

This is at work, it was bought from stove experience in shotts.

It can take 70cm long logs which is very big and at full tilt it can heat 19 full size radiators. Toasty!
Do you have a large easily available source of logs as it can burn loads if you keep it going.
Handy to fill up before going to bed, leave the vents slightly open for heat all night.

Is it for you or someone else?

I (and others) have used gibson & goold in glasgow just beside kingston bridge and they were very good. DId fitting of stove and re-did fireplace to accomodate and guy was excellent that fitted it - even cut down the existing mantlepiece so it fitted perfectly.

Tis for me!

I'd be getting a smaller one than that and it wouldn't have a back boiler so would be using a lot less wood than that monster smile

We've got a stove & an open fire and the stove does a much better job at warming the place up.

Have got a couple of contacts of folk specialising in stoves so will find the details and PM you.

As mentioned, worth sourcing a good supply of wood. Ours is pretty old so probably not that efficient but if it's going all day/night can get through quite a bit of wood.

I have a free standing wood burning stove in my "man creche" at bottom of garden.

Once you have one of these, you will suddenly find that all around you, you will see sources of wood to burn. Old pallets ideal for kindling and getting fire going, then you can have as many branches, logs etc that you can get just by going a wee run in the country.

I have still got my stocks from hurricane bawbag to finish off, before I start on the Christmas trees that I have accumulated.....

You get what you pay for - fit a Clearview,(made in Ludlow) they aren't cheap but will last. I've been involved with many different makes(I work as a land agent) and the Clearview takes the abuse of tenants and lasts the time. I'm not on commission!

Price up the flue requirements before you start, esp if you don't have a chimney. We get folk in all the time who've bought one and then find out how long they need to burn free wood for before it's financially in the black. It can get really expensive if the flue exits through a living area.

Although if you are not running radiators off your woodburner an exposed flue is an excellent way to spread the heat even to the upper floor.

I found a place in springkerse industrial estate that do cracking stoves. Some with heat exchangers that pipe hot air to rooms upstairs.
They also have 5" concentric flues (air and emissions in same twin tube) that makes fitting the flue easier and cheaper and ventilation not needed as comes from flue.
Will dig out name when I remember.
