CD changer won't eject or work "no magazine displayed"

The CD changer on my 03 Cooper has stopped working, I pressed a button to change discs and nothing happened, since then when I change from radio to CD 'no magazine' is displayed on the head unit.

I can't manually eject the magazine either so all my discs are stuck in there. How do I release the magazine and then get it all working again?

Can't really help directly, but a few words of advice.... Do NOT try and take the CD changer apart. I did and never got it back together again, so many little springs screws etc.!

thanks for the warning. Any other ideas as to how to release the magazine?

Doddle.... take the changer out of the car, 4 screws and a cable. Carefully take apart and manually remove the magazine. Can of air duster for a fiver and give it a good spray.

After the warning above regarding the screws and springs that can be lost I'd be reluctant to do this. Any other ideas, does something just need releasing with a pokey stick slipped into the mechanism?

BTW I'm the original poster, change of user name due to personal plate change.

Thanks for the link, I'll have a read and see if I can get the magazine released. Hope it is as easy as just removing the fuse! Thanks again.
