water in sill - s3
Discussion
Hi All,seem to have water sloshing about on drivers side of car.think it maybe in sill.i have drilled hole at rear and got some water out.are there sections in the sill -so would i need to drill further holes along the sill fwd? if so where? or im i down to pot luck?.think there is a hairline crack near the door sriker where the door seal sits so maybe where entering car. is there anywhere else i should check? -is there a void where the hood folds just behind the pivot? it was leaking in here -but seems to have stopped since i water-proofed the roof.
Water is more likely to be getting in around the bottom of the hood. See if you can get into the void low down behind the seat around where the seat belt reel is, under a flap of carpet.
Be careful if you think about removing the reel you may strip the thread / wreck the mount which is under the rear wheel arch and probably corroded solid.

I think the sill should be "hollow", when I moved my battery to the boot I was able to fish the cable through the sill. Chimaera's on the other hand are filled with expanding foam stuff.
Is the water definately in the sills? If your outriggers are less than perfect it could be in them?
