Never trash talk co-workers in an interview. Never say anything that could be considered trash talking in an interview.

It depends on who is doing the interviewing really. If your boss that promoted you in the first place is involved you are on good ground - assuming you didn't fk it up, they'll be desperate to be proved correct in their action. If it's someone else you'll likely find the cards stacked against you, both during the interview and afterwards when someone else who you used to manage is managing you. That's not a good position to be in.

Yes, the boss that promoted me is interviewing. Not sure if it will help, however.

I was hoping to use examples where I obscure who it is I am talking about, remain upbeat and focus on the good work I've done. To be honest, they've been very good until the interviews were scheduled. Managing upwards has been substantially harder. It almost been like a clandestine role.

Is the fact that they're female relevant?

Somewhat. I'm also female, the entire management team is female and sometimes all female teams can develop an interesting dynamic.

That's one way of putting it. wink

I've found any team that's all one sex, male or female, goes a bit weird.
