Minti Cooper S or Z3???
Discussion
Drive both!
For the £ you'll spend on a Cooper S, you'll get a v high spec 3.0 Z3.
I'd recommend finding a Z with a strut brace fitted though as this makes a big difference to the handling.
If you get a mini, the TLC deal is unbelievable VFM and the residuals seem fantastic.
I love the Cooper S to drive, but I doubt it has anything like the pace of a 3.0 Z3 and when we do get sunny days the electric hood on the Z makes it such a lovely proposition. Tintops are just not the same and you have that fantastic straight 6 soundtrack.
I'd be torn if shoping now (we've had the Z for 5 years and still love it). Also done a few TD's (Cadwell & Croft) and surprised a few ///M's etc. in the car too, so the reports of poor handling resolved to some degree with the strut brace (like the Z4 comes as standard with now).
Enjoy the shopping.
