Aright folks,

I am after a bit of advice/opinion from the collective.

At some point this year my partner and I are planning to do wee tour around scotland for a week to ten days, departing from Aberdeen. Couple of reasons for it, the first being its been a couple of years since either of us have been over to the west coast for any length of time, the second I want to actually enjoy Scotland for a change been away with work a good bit recently (currently on a rig in Israel), the third is I want to take the new car over some of the best roads we have to offer ( 06 WRX STI Impreza).

So what I am looking for is if anyone has undertaken similar, recommendations of routes, hotels etc along the way, we have no firm route in mind and I have intentionally left the little we have out so as not to influence you. I have also I am sure you will notice not said anything about when, as this is also up for discussion however I will say was thinking of going earlier in the year to avoid it being more touristy and quieter roads evil

I will throw a few bottles of octane booster in the boot for if 99 octane is not available through some of the route (through pumps being empty or just to far north)

Appreciate any input

Cheers

Ross

They sell Super U/L in Kyle of Lochalsh these days. Make sure you take in Fort William, Applecross and Torridon, Summer Isles, Lochinver, Ullapool and Durness and you can't go wrong. Top of Skye is good, and if it's sunny jump on a ferry to Harris and head for the beaches. Just don't do the trip in August.
