iwc or bell and ross, which one to buy?
Discussion
Right then I have (I think) dcided that my next watch will either be a iwc fliegerchronograph 3706 secondhand or a new bell and ross br-03 military green.
I currently have a rolex sub dateless, tag microtimer, glycine incursore, a stainless steel bpack faced oris (so quite close in looks to the iwc), a omega constellation and a rado. This will be a watch for everyday use so will be worn in the office, down the pub, etc.
Cant make my mind up so thought a bit of discussion might help.
Current thinking is that the iwc seems a better deal as I guess I will lose a lot of value in the bell and ross when I leave the shop, altho not planning to move on you never know whats in the future. Iwc will possibly suit the office more but its not a smart office and I normally wear jeans and a short sleeved shirt. But then the bell and ross is different to what I would normally buy and I have a few stainless steel watches with a black face.

Obvious answer that initially springs to mind is IWC, but if you're expanding on an already diverse collection, then would it be too similar in theme to the Oris?
Perhaps time for something different, and do you reckon you'll still end up getting the 3706 in the future, anyway? FWIW I like the idea of the classic square B&Rs but they look awful on me when I try them on, even the smaller BR03s. I can only just about pull off wearing a BR02.

After seeing the posts which are pretty much unanimous im swaying to the iwc with the thought that its a large saving on new and if the bell and ross is a limited edition which is something I can't work out im sure one will come up secondhand.
I know this to be the sensible option but I also know that I'll probably change my mind a few times before deciding and buying. It will be bought before the week is over though!

That's a very dull looking watch, imo.And not dull, in classy way. It looks a bit like the Timex I had when I was 10

I like some IWCs, but some just leave me cold, I'm afraid (although that's true of most brands and most people, I guess).
I'd take the IWC though

It's a purely personal choice. Personally I don't like the style of IWC, but I can appreciate it, the design and the movement. I just don't 'get' them.
I like B&R - I like the design, they 'fit' me, and I had them before they went trendy. For those of you who have met me, 'trendy' is the last word most people would use describing me!
I would say try them on, and make your mind up then. I would say the IWC holds its value better, unless you have one or two of mine. My final thought would be to have a chat with Dominic H, for a good deal.
A final shot of mine to balance out the IWC goodness.
