Replacement toy has arrived

Finally got the replacement toy delivered to my garage, hoping to be able to drive it soon once the achilles gets better. Very pleased with the fit and finish. The noise will have to improve though as the V8 just isn't loud enough.

Yes Noble is gone. For a number of reasons it was a good time to change.

M3 V8 with competition pack. So a little bit of extras to help with the odd track day.

Yip I've no doubt the GT-R will be much quicker on track.

I did toil with the idea of the GT-R but the M3 was offered to me with £20K off retail price with 600 miles on the clock and registered in May 2012. I personally felt it was a very good deal considering it was showroom condition. He was also the only dealer that wanted to even consider looking for buyers for the Noble.

Good news actually the ankle. Surgeon wants me out of cast in two weeks and walking again. Gulp!

Now that is a *cracking* deal Sir - fan-bloody-tastic.

They are a hoot, it's one of my favourite cars to throw around Bedford Autodrome, and have often walked away with the fastest lap in them so chuckable but catchable they are.

Great news about the cast, remember once it's off lots and lots of contiguous movement - I prescribe a course of extensive driving with lots of overtakes

Well finally I'm allowed out to play so I took it out for a spin today. Loved it. It's epic in different ways to the Noble. Steering rack is bloomin quick and caught me out a few times. I bet the GT-R is just bonkers.

i had my left ankle in plaster 20 years ago after a motorcycle crash

i had to go from a solid plaster cast to a flexible style one that i could take off so i could have a bath etc

it was my left ankle so i could drive but changing gear was trouble for some time after

i still have a bit of grief with it 20 years later

i suggest if you get given a flexible cast you hang onto it for times when the ankle needs a proper rest

how did you damage the ankle ?

Hi Gadge, done it playing football. Only 10 minutes into the game. Felt like a bad tackle on my ankle. Turned out nobody was near me. Achilles just went pop.

One of the reasons for selling the Noble was to move to something with no clutch pedal, hence the M3.

Had my cast off a couple days, driving the A3 feels fine, think it would be worse if I'd done my left ankle, need a crutch to keep some weight off it but picking up noblet tomorrow, will be a long drive home!!

Take it easy man - literally one step at a time. Bet it will be epic to drive the Noble again.
