Anyone from here going?

I know AVES is entering in his Caterham but wondered if anyone else is?

What is it? A car event? A boat event? A clubbing event?

Alledgedly there is going to be an F50 and an F40 running against each other, I must stress this is wild rumour

Not just a rumour... They have both been at Brighton for the past few years. The event is run one at a time and is well worth watching. I'll be there in a humble single seater - only 1600cc and about 105bhp - not great for a 1/4 mile sprint but fun to do!

It takes place on Marina Drive. All day long.

Its pretty much a run what you brung but you would have needed to apply before now.It is organised by
the Brighton & Hove something or other Club.

There is no way they would allow two cars on together unless it was a parade

Its run along the seafront road - Madeira Drive. A nice an straight, but very bumpy closed road. Viewung is FREE from Marine Parade. If you dont know Brighton, DONT drive near the town centre, its a nightmare.

Directions from A23 - Take A27 ( > Lewes) to Universities. Turn off on B2123 ( > Woodingdean). At first set of lights (by pub), turn right. At set of lights by racecourse (Wilson Ave), turn Left. At bottom of hill either park in the Marina and walk, or join A259 for town centre. This is Marine Parade. Action is below you to the left. Be careful in Brighton, wardens are Nazis! and you could end up being towed away.

Good Luck & Have Fun.

There will be a large number of TVRs on display at the Marina from maybe 9AM onwards in the square between the casino and cinema. This is a TVRCC-organised display. Was quite a sight last year.

It is part of the sprint championship, it just happens to be a half mile blast.

There will be numerous bikes, cars and racers down there. Quickest bikes are pulling around 150 - 160mph and some of the cars are getting there.

The quickest I have seen was the 1200hp PT/Bruiser that got fastest time of the day.

A good day to be had, entry to paddock and viewing galary is usually a tenner.....

The speed trials is the oldest motorsport event in the world, started in 1904 IIRC and is organised by the Brighton & Hove Motor Club. Entries were selected in June/July and you need an MSA licence to compete.

The bikes are something else - 167mph on Madeira Drive in around 8 secs is awesome

There is always a good TVR presence and plenty of exotica to drool over. Roll on first practice...

BCA's dad is competing in a dark blue Cerb, should be a good day, wish I could've been there.
