Rubber seal adhesive - success!

Finally got round to replacing the rubber window seals over xmas. Used Evostick contact adhesive at first and the bond lasted about 2 days. Took the rubbers off, cleaned up the GRP and had another go...... with this:

Verdict: absolutely incredible stuff. Used the clear variant, only needed the tiniest amount and the seals are absolutely solid. I guess the advantage is that it bonds and seals and is waterproof and flexible. You need to mop up any overspill pretty swiftly as it goes off after only 10 mins or so, but other than that can recommend!

Did you source the trim from woollies as per previous posts?

No they came from David Gerald TVR. I had to modify them slightly but they fit ok.

That is interesting, I have a use for something like that. I have also wondered about glueing a new piece of velcro to the hood where it fastenes at the back of the door, I wonder if it would be strong enough for that. If you only use a part tube will it all go off or is it possible to reseal it?

I'm sure it would be great for that. I don't intend to use anything else from now on. Good question about going off in the tube. I had it open over xmas and just sealed with masking tape after each session and it seemed ok. It was out in an unheated garage though and it doesn't like being cold. Haven't looked at it in the past week so couldn't tell you if it will last indefinitely... I got mine from free through work, don't actually know what it costs to buy. It's really very effective though.

Thanks Will, I will get some and give it a go when the weather is warmer. Car Builder Supplies sell velcro by the length so there are a couple of bits I will try to sort.
