Wind Turbine Technician Jobs

Hi Guys,
I’m looking to make a leap into this industry and wondered if anyone knows of any current vacancies. I can see from previous threads there are a few already employed as Wind Turbine Technician and would therefore be grateful if I can be pointed in the right direction. I have my CV to hand and ready to fire off.

I heard that Siemens are looking at taking quite a lot of people on in the next year or so?

A future in the wind / renewables industry...

Well there is 1000's of turbines already installed, with a life span of 20+ years, which need to be serviced and maintained. That is a small proportion of the jobs.

There is also a huge amount of projects in he pipeline, that the government, developers and manufacturers have committed to, so are unlikely to not go ahead (google round 3 offshore projects), these fields dwarf anything that has been done before. These round 3 projects will mean construction / installation jobs for the next 10 years at least.

So I would suggest there is likely to be a future.

As for the OP, google the main clients and check their site frequently... the likes of DONG, Vattenfal, SSE, RWE, Etc. The also google the main manufacturers, like Siemens, Areva, Gamesa, Mitsubishs, Vesta, Enercon, etc.

A recent report has halved that life span however I doubt it will make any difference to the industry, as long as the subsidies keep rolling then the industry will keep growing.

Sounds interesting, although I couldn't see the full report which must be supported by facts to back up these claims?

I'd be more inclined to put my money behind some of the best engineers in the world than a few academics working for a charity though.
