1000th Roller rolls off the line
Balloons released in celebration at Goodwood plant
Yesterday, Rolls Royce celebrated building the one thousandth Phantom at the company’s new manufacturing plant in Goodwood.
To mark the occasion, 1,000 balloons were released from the company’s central courtyard with Rolls-Royce employees looking on. One of the balloons could prove particularly lucky for its finder. Rolls-Royce will donate £1,000 to the charity of his or her choice and they will receive a Spirit of Ecstasy mascot mounted on a special plinth.
Company chairman and CEO Karl-Heinz Kalbfell said, "We are celebrating another landmark achievement in the history of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, an achievement made possible by the small but talented team of people working at Goodwood. This occasion helps mark the success of the renaissance of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, since it became part of BMW Group."
The 1,000th Phantom is finished in black, with black leather interior and Elm Cluster wood veneer.
