I know E Types ain't everyone's cup of tea but I thought I'd post a couple of pics in case someone was interested.....

This is an opalescent silver blue 3.8 Series 1 FHC that left the Jag factory in 1962.
It has done just over 70,000 miles since new.

It underwent a nut and bolt restoration having spent 25 years motionless in a farm shed....

It was a fairly long process getting her back on the road but she now drives like a dream.
She's reliable and really is exciting to drive when you have an open road ahead and your
foot down - the 3.8 engine sounds great at full throttle.

But what is going on with the ride height?

I think the uneven lawn makes the ride height appear lower than it actually is....
all I know is that the suspension is set at exactly the factory settings
as shown in the owners manual-

Lovely! My new neighbour has a series 1 (I believe) but he only moved in around October and it has been hidden away in the garage. Has some sort of old Daimler, a Landy Series IIA, Aston V8 Vantage and a Jag XF to go with it!

That is a beauty- love the colour....pure class.

Some years ago the convertible version was worth about 15k more than the FHC-
but I've always preferred the lines on the FHC...indeed I was talking to a classic
car dealer recently who told me that he now gets more enquiries for series 1 FHC's
than the soft top version, which never used to be the case....

Can't see any problems with the ride height either. Here's mine in 1992:-

Both look the same as the magnificently restored example shown in this thread. Well done sir. Oh, and the other coupé on the lawn was a "long term" restoration!

the most exotic tour so far in the E has been
to Yorkshire .... not quite Slovakia
