Could we fit one of these ?
The Jaguar 3.0 litre V6 340 Supercharged Petrol engine is based on the engine architecture of Jaguar's acclaimed V8 engines, offering broadly equivalent performance with significantly increased efficiency. The engine uses highly efficient fuel & induction technologies, including a Roots type twin vortex supercharger, high-pressure direct fuel injection, twin variable camshaft timing (inlet & exhaust) and Stop/Start capability (market dependant). It provides a refined and smooth power delivery, utilising an innovative crank balancing system to optimise refinement and make it as smooth as a V8.

3.5 L EcoBoost V6 would be my choice with the GT28rs turbos.
Hoover is looking to see if the 3.5 will fit in the noble. Would be interesting altogh as tux said, why change what we all know works well! The ford engine seems to handle all the power people can throw at it!...Lets not forget, the gearbox will be the limiting factor, so unless the ecoboost uses a stronger box which also fits, you won't be able to make any extra power, you could perhaps have a wider spread of torque which would be good but to improve on current performance. you'd need to go through the development of testing and upgrading valve springs,bearings and all the other things already done on current set up.

Surely it's the torque that will be the limiting factor?the eco boost also has a gearbox that might work

if you can get it to swap gears manually - we also have a paddle shift just like the GTR available for our cars !

Upgrades were made to the transmission’s friction material in response to the higher shift energies, and a new torque converter has been optimized for performance and fuel economy.
Additionally, the 6F-55 transmission operates more efficiently. The transmission team was able to reduce the fluid level in the transmission, which in turn reduced weight and drag torque on the system. Upgrades to the transmission’s thermal valve mean the system warms up quicker, reducing gear-spin losses.
“We’ve upgraded the gear sets to handle the increased torque,” said Joe Baum, powertrain team leader. “We’ve also adjusted the final drive ratio and matched the gear ratios to provide the optimum performance and fuel economy.
“Our final drive ratio is 2.73. With a lower final drive ratio, the engine spins lower at highway speeds, which helps save fuel. And with all the torque, the Ford Flex still delivers good low-speed launch performance."

Ive said it before... My engine power was capped to keep torque below a figure... I rev to 8000rpm.
I definatelly DON'T need any more low down torque so see no reason to consider changing engine unless revs go way beyond 8000rpm.
I'm going to up the torque and thus power next year, limit is the box not the engine thus far!
