Non alcoholic beer

Anyone got any recommendations for this stuff? I've not drank it much before, and have found some pretty dreadful. I've had a couple of bottles of Equator at home. 0% alcohol, 0 calories, an interesting alternative to bottled water! It doesn't taste like beer, but the barley malt extract isn't overpowering, and it's not overly sweet like some of the 0% drinks I've tried. It's not hoppy enough though.


Which ones have you tried, and what do you recommend? I ask as I am going to the work Christmas party tonight, which is coincidentally near where I work, so I'm just going to take the car there and back (and save about £25 for a taxi and the trouble of going to get my car tomorrow).

Cobra unleaded works quite well with a curry.

Just keep away from no-alcohol wine.

Wifey is Pregs, and the bottle of Zero stuff bought from Tescos was fking vile. Are they all like that ?

Waitrose non alcoholic my wife says is much better and is produced by Spanish winemaker "TORRES"

Beck's "Blue" seems to be the least bad alcohol-free beer - to me, anyway.

I usually mix it with lemon & lime flavoured soda water (lemonade is too sweet) to make something similar to the Spanish "clara".

Agreed with the beck blue comments - probaly about the most tolerable non alcoholic beer. I'll have it over a pint of coke and the need for a piss that comes soon after.

The weird thing with that becks is that is still gives me a hazy head, most likely all the crap in it!

Brewdog Nanny State is interesting.

Smells fantastic, flavour is a bit strange but you can't call it boring.

See if you can find it though...

Furstenburg do an alcohol free that is passable and has caught a few people out
who thought they were on the razz when actually they weren't...

I've tried quite a few, mostly ghastly but Cobra I quite like, Becks I can live with but Erdinger I really, really like - a very good substitute to lager, this one

I tried everything when I was pregnant, the best stuff is the Weissbier whose name had just escaped me!! Dammit. Blue label, only very slightly sweeter than the alcoholic version.

The other drink I'd recommend is Westons non alcoholic cider - was still and could almost have been alcoholic it was so crisp and dry.

Otherwise good sharp adult soft drinks (none of your sweet cokes/lemonade etc) are the only way to go.

I gave up with these, the only two readily available are the Becks and Cobra jobbies; both taste revolting.

Non-alcoholic beer is the equivalent of putting non-combustable petrol in your car - utterly pointless and a waste of money!
As recommended above, chug on proper non-alcoholic liquids.
