Gutted for the owners but you can just about see the tips of the wiper blades as they try to shift about a million gallons of water from the screen

Loved the fact you could still see the wipers going.

I would like to feel sympathy for the owners....but I don't. If you are stupid enough to drive into a bloody great puddle then it is your lookout. Trying it in a tall 4x4 is bad enough but a low slung sports car, how did they not know parts of the road had not been washed away or that it might contain some other hidden obstruction.

+1 - unless the bank suddenly collapsed as they were driving through. Took the 911 over to Comrie this morning - drives quite well in soft wellies and managed to get the feel of the new winter tyres. Was getting marginal coming back and the Porker won't be going out again until water levels drop - 4x4 from now on.

agreed... very Risky Business going out in your Porker in this weather....

Though to be a little fair to them, the air intake to a 987's engine is far better situated for 'wading' than many normal saloon cars. So I think you could get through deeper water in a 987 than many cars where the intake is situated perfectly for drinking in any bow wave formed. But we are talkng 12" of water... not the 2-3' of it they probably drove in to!

Depends where you are. If Australia begins to be swallowed up as the sun rises, time to chase time zones.

...could the car be appearing shortly on a well known auction website with the expression 'no visible damage apparent'? It is truly sad when someone loses all common sense & tries to take the quick way home...I hope they didn't ruin their 'Jimmy ch**s' biggrin
