Average Overtime Rate - UK??

Can anyone point me to a link that will tell me what the average Overtime rate paid by employers is in the UK? ie 2.0 x basic or 1.5 x basic etc

I'd guess the average is something like 1.2 but would like to see something from a proper survey of business. Google is not helping me at present.....

Rate? Many people are salaried, and do it "for the love of the company"...

yes of course. but thats not my question - obviously this question only applies to those who are paid on an hourly basis.

Regular overtime I would imagine is x1.
You may get more for working o/t on public holidays.

For over time I just get time + any applicable shift rate

In days gone by i used to get:

x 1.25 for any work before 8 and/or after 5
x1.5 for any saturday work
x2 for sunday work
x3 for bank holiday (special arrangement with main contractor and employer to pay x1.5 each to get the job finished)

Now its:

x 1.5 for extra time weekdays & saturdays
x 2 for bank holidays

or can trade in for straight time off in lieu

Back when i worked somewhere with a production line,

weekday overtime was 1.33
Saturday was 1.5
Sunday was 2.0

But,

you wouldn't get Saturday rates without doing some weekday hours, and you wouldn't get Sunday rates without doing some Saturday hours.

1.5x anything outwith 8 hours a day and all day if its a weekend.60 hours last month makes me not want to get a salary!

Monday to Saturday - first 5 hours at time and a half and after that double time
Sunday - double time all day

I once had a job where the overtime rate was 0.75 of your hourly rate. To be fair it's the only time in software development I've got overtime so it was better than the usual nothing!!

Weekdays (before/after work hours) - x1.5
Saturdays - x1.5
Sundays - x2.0
Bank holidays - x2.0

Just for a bit of perspective, here in Australia this is fairly typical:

Standard day = 8 hrs
First 2 hrs OT @ x1.5
OT after that @ x2

Saturday @ x2
Sunday @ x3

Thanks to some ancient historical nonsense, they'll pay you 17% more than your standard working day if you take a day holiday - Because you dont have the opportunity to earn OT!

My overtime rate is about £6 per hour less than my standard rate, I've only done about 14 hours in 7 years as we get very little but by the time I take of petrol etc it's hardly worth it. You can get time off in lieu but losing a Saturday to take a Monday off isn't worth it either!

35 hour basic, 5 day week

maximum of 9 hours a day at basic rate, any hours over that are time and a half. Unless those hours are between midnight and 8 am - these are double time.

any hours over over 35 basic is time and a half (unless midnight to 8am - double time))

Sunday working is all double time

and we get paid higher than basic for being on holiday due to taking an average weeks pay into account (average week of course being somewhat higher than a basic week because some weeks are 70 hours)

this is UK based.

x2 between 10pm-6am
Saturday @ x1.5 til 1pm then @ x2 there afterwards and the remainder of the weekend.
x2 on BHs or x2 with day in lieu if you're also on call during a BH.

Average about 60 hours a month OT although a week of night works a fortnight ago gave me 90 hours total for the week, which will be nice in the Jan wage.
