Wonder (a) how much that cost them and (b) if there have ever been any longer contract extensions than this.

hehe

Must be circa £300k pw?

Can't blame him but as I said on the other Messi thread I'd be more interested if he now moved & did it again with a smaller club.

ha ha yes Glenred
According to Guardiola, Messi is the only player he's seen who runs faster with the ball than without it. He is a phenomenal player. Hasn't let fame go to his head by the looks of it either, his missis comes from the same part of Argentina as him, they've just had a nipper. Funny how Messi just arrived, his parents were manual workers with no footy background.

Strikes me as the intensely loyal type, he remembers the ones who looked after him when he was a kid.

There comes a time though surely - how much more can he do w/ Barca?

I guess he hasn't got the sort of ego that makes him want to go to a lesser club and 'turn it round' with his magnificent talent. Money's not an issue, they reckon his net worth is over $110 million.

What ever wage he is on, i would put my house on the fact that there are clubs out their willing to pay more. Can't see him ever leaving Barca. And why would he? He has nothing to prove IMHO. He's the greatest player to play the game by some margin.

If I scored 90 goals in a year on Fifa I'd rack up the difficulty setting. The fact he has done it in real life defies belief.

90 goals, meh. A Zambian scored 107 one year.

That's like comparing chalk with cheese. I bet there's a Sunday league player who's scored over 109 goals in a year too. BIG difference between the Zambian league and the calibre of games messi has scored in this year.

There's been a lot of questions asked about this guy. By all accounts, the Zambian FA aren't great with paperwork and never have been hence there are doubts as to the validity of his claim.

How can you say that!

He's got a football with the exact number of goals on it, coincidence? I think not.

According to Wikipedia they paid for his treatment for a growth hormone problem. He would quite literally be half the man he is without Barca...;)
