Can anyone recommend me some quality soft ground boots? I've been playing for a local team for about a year now and it's time for some new boots. I play right back so prefer the boots to be tough but lightweight for my dangerous ventures up the wing!

Budget of about £40

Thinking some of these...

Do you prefer studs or blades in on soft/wet ground?

Cheers for any advice

Stretch your budget & get some Adidas World cups or Puma Kings, if you look after them they will last you a good few seasons, Great boots too

Both top end boots at reduced prices so will both be good quality and the leather will last.

I had those Umbro boots and where like slippers and lasted 2 seasons. They have spilt on the seams now so need to look for another pair.

If you can stretch the finances then I would buy Adidas World Cups

I'd get the Puma Kings, have the astro turf versions and still in good nick after playing twice a week.

This several times over, or Copa Mundial.

I've got these Speciali Elite's in both hard ground and soft ground versions, very comfortable boot, plenty of room in the toe and they shape well to fit your foot after a few wears. The HG pair I have have started to split on the stitching, but they've had almost 4 years of hammer so i'm not compaining.

Can I just say how nice it is to see no one recommending any coloured boots which are a personal hatred of mine.

All of the boots mentioned here are great.

Definitely puma kings. I have a pair and play either centre back or right back and they hold up brilliantly.

If you can lay your hands on some mixed sole Copa's or Speciali's that's where I'd be sending my money. I used to wear a Copa on the left foot (my natural striking foot) and a Speciali on the right. Predators, Total 90's etc never came close for comfort/control.

Granted I never went passed Dulwich Hamlet as a player in terms of ability but all the proper players wore these types of boot.

Probably should say that I play centre mid, if you're an on your toes striker you probably want Nike Vapours that I can stamp all over at corners wink

I bought some of these new King's (Hard Ground) to replace my ageing Puma Kings. They are much more comfortable with proper underfoot support and lighter than the old versions too. I only play on 3G pitches now so can't comment on the studded version but I expect they'll be just as good.

I paid £75.00 for mine, at a price of £39.99 I'd say it's a no-brainer.

If it weren't these I'd have bought World Cup's or Copa Mundial's.
